By taking advantage of the latest technologies and incorporating a modular approach the entire shop floor can be a seamless environment. Along with a variety of automatic collection methods from devices such as CNC's and PLC's, data can be collected from the GE Fanuc FOCAS drivers and data can also be input through bar coding, RF tags, and browser based touch screens. Relavant data is stored in a database for real-time and historical purposes and can be displayed on reports, charts, information boards, e-mail, and exported to a variety of formats.
Wireless technologies for not only DNC, but for data collection and machine monitoring. Industry standards such as 802.11 can be used to collect data and monitor CNC machines, PLC's, along with other shop floor equipment. Wireless PDA's can then also be used to input data as well as report on the status of machines in real-time.
